2010 Obedience
A hand-crafted leather scold’s bridle designed for the human head, explored through video and performance. The piece examines the physical and psychological effects of restraint, tracing how systems of control shape behavior, posture, and the subtle erosion of autonomy.
A series of Silver fiber paper premium inkjet prints, 20 x 16 inches, series of printed DVD’s in custom made boxes, and a life size plaster bust with Bridle.

Plaster bust likeness was created and is fictitious. It is meant to represent a modern human.

Her videos, animated neon, and sepia images set the atmosphere for the performance. The exhibition is followed by a solo performance in the main theater by Makram Hamdan. Using the show's theme, conceived by Laura Schwamb, Makram Hamdan engages to push the limits of poetic control, visceral constraint, and physical endurance in a challenging semi-autobiographical performance based on memory.
